About The Awards

These college-level awards include the Outstanding Alumni, Young Alumni, Innovator and Selfless Service Awards. Each award is presented to those who best meet the standards of excellence in the college, Texas A&M University and the marine and maritime industry.

The Alumni Awards Celebration

On May 1, 2026, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., join us for the College of Marine Sciences & Maritime Studies Alumni Awards Celebration! Guests will enjoy dinner, music and fun as we honor the amazing Aggies who continue to make exceptional impacts in coastal, marine and maritime disciplines. Reservations are first-come, first-serve.

OUTSTANDING ALUMNI AWARD

This award is presented to a former student in recognition of remarkable achievements, including demonstrated excellence and distinguished professional achievement in their chosen field or personal and community service. This award is reserved for alumni who graduated from a College of Marine Sciences & Maritime Studies program more than 10 years prior to their nomination.

YOUNG ALUMNI AWARD

Young alumni are building a brighter future through their dedication of time, talent, and energy. This award is presented to former students who have demonstrated outstanding professional or personal achievement, exemplifying the Core Values of Texas A&M University and the academic standards of the college. This award is reserved for those who graduated from a College of Marine Sciences & Maritime Studies program less than 10 years prior to their nomination.

INNOVATOR AWARD

This award recognizes individuals, groups or entities for their outstanding innovations and contributions, individually or collectively, in the coastal, marine and maritime fields for the greatest benefit to our quality of life, economic and environmental resilience, and sustainability and stewardship of the planet. This award is intended to recognize groups external to the university; however, affiliation with Texas A&M does not exclude eligibility.

SELFLESS SERVICE AWARD

The Selfless Service award recognizes the exceptional, but often behind-the-scenes, efforts of a former student in service to their fellow Sea Aggies. Former students currently employed at TAMU Galveston are eligible for this honor.
